2nd Opinion Design gives clients an impartial perspective on their architectural projects to ensure that the final design represents their vision in aesthetics, functionality, and value. Whether a small-scale renovation or a major development, any project can have unanticipated opportunities or problems, for unforeseen events can occur during all phases of design and construction. Noushin Ehsan's architectural and planning experience is utilized in every project, whether the clients are governmental agencies, developers, private individuals, or architects who sometimes need fresh eyes for their project.

After the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti, to assist in both short and long-term relief, Noushin formed a group of architects and engineers and went to Haiti for five days. Utilizing the collective skills and individuals' good will, AIA NY Global Dialogues Committee, which Noushin Ehsan was the chair of, formed a subcommittee called Haiti Housing Collaborative with the goal to rebuild Haiti through Collaborative Designs. An outpouring of designs from a number of countries such as China, Thailand, Japan, England, France and many more were received. An international jury, including the people of Haiti, selected the final 12 designs. Then the selected projects were further refined and four final designs appropriate to the culture were developed. Since this effort was collaborative, we eliminated the name of the designers and offered the designs to anyone who wants to build them, including Habitat for Humanity.

Noushin has developed the concept of “The Spirit of Space” and lectures to professionals and the public at large to encourage a holistic approach to design and promote timeless design. Currently, she is writing a book called "The Spirit of Space" where she identifies the elements in design that uplift mind, body, and spirit.

In New York. Work includes restoration and renovation of educational and institutional buildings for clients such as The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York: New York Technical College buildings in Brooklyn; The Port Authority of NY & NJ: LaGuardia Airport Ground Crew Communication Center; and Human Resources Administration: five Multi Service Center; and numerous small projects for private clients. Since conception the firm’s publications and motive “design for all” have increased public awareness of how architecture can improve the quality of life.
