Working within the Central Inquiry Response Team to carry out research to support Government responses to the Truth telling and Healing Inquiry in Qld which was established under the Path to Treaty Act

In this role within the First Nations Strategy, Discovery team I currently contribute to the improvement of metadata of records containing information about Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people. This includes: assessing records for improvements and digitisation; collection analysis; communication and engagement planning; metadata updates within specific business systems; research; allocation of listing and indexing work; making decisions with trauma informed practices in mind and taking into consideration cultural protocols, I also provide support to the upcoming work of the Truth Telling and Healing Inquiry particularly in supporting government agencies in being prepared to provide information to the inquiry. This includes: research support; collection analysis; information sessions; inquiry response planning.

In this role I work on various projects across the organisation that align with Strategic priorities. This includes the management of contracts and deliverables on key First Nations project including the management of the Frontier Wars project and working with traditional language in the QSA collection. I collaborate with a traditional language worker to identify traditional language in the collection and make it more accessible. I am also heavily involved in running our annual First Nations Languages Workshop in which we work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are undertaking language revival in Queenlsland community. This role also requires engagement with Government clients and clients out in the community and to developstrategic partnerships.

In this role I provide reasearch and archival support to the Engagement team which uses and promotes the Queensland Government Archival collection to connect the community with Queenslands history. This role also provides support and input into the First Nations First program of work. I also am the coordinator for our Memory Lounge program in which we facilitate sessions with those in the community living with dementia by using images in the collection to help prompt discussions. I am also involved in supporting the First Nations First program of work through research, community engagement and exploration of the collection.

In this role I'm a jack of all trades. I'm currently looking at engagement with government clients using interesting media and different approaches for information dissemination. I'm also using my storytelling and media skills to run a project that creates short stories to promote the State Archives collection.

My primary role as a Senior Archivist is the enchancement of the archival collection at the archives. This involves arranging and describing material into the collection as well as enhancing the exisiting material. I'm an investigator and hunter of information. I help preserve the historical memory of Queensland through government records.

I create original Metadata for permanent public records for the Queensland Government. I also provide support for researchers in the public search room and uploading digital content to our website. My work day involves a lot of research, writing and manual handling of public records. I work with many different types or records such as paper, photographs, and films.I am involved in helping preserve the historical memory of the State of Queensland and the accountability of the State Government.

Responsible for creating, updating and monitoring content on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the Archives. This consists of research, storytelling, social media monitoring, and discovering new content for promotion.
