Net fee value in 2004 for my projects was £460k. By 2009 this figure was £2.2M.During my tenure I won and delivered several key projects in the transport communications sector.

Director of Network Services responsible for the design and operation of an international 2.5 Gbps SDH self-healing telecommunications network between Hong Kong and China.Project manager for the design and construction of an international fibre-based telecoms network between Hong Kong and China, which was completed within 12 months of initial approval (known as ‘ChinaLink’). Managed the procurement process on behalf of CLP for the supply of Ground Wire Wrap-On optical fibre cable and SDH switching equipment to provide a 2.5 Gbps redundant network. Led the negotiations with China Netcom (a major Chinese telecommunications carrier) to agree interconnection of network and services between Hong Kong and China. This included technical agreements on network interconnection, operations and management, plus service agreements on sales and network provisioning.

GEC Hong Kong specialised in the design and implementation of infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and China. My responsibilities included: Management of one of the largest engineering sales organisations in southern China, specialising in the sale and distribution of engineering products for the construction and industrial markets Management of 120 staff based in offices in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and NanjingDuring my tenure I delivered £50M in gross revenue for FY1999, with a gross profit margin of 20%.I led the negotiations for disposal of the business as a going concern to Gelec Hong Kong following the strategic development of GEC (Marconi) as a telecommunications company. Gelec is now a thriving company in its own right. I achieved this through the management of stakeholders both in the UK and Hong Kong, as well as engaging key suppliers in committing to the future success of the business.
