Dr. D. Patrick O'Neal's laboratory focuses on biomedical optics and nanotechnology for the support of cancer detection, treatment, and management. Mr. Schwab’s pharmacokinetic visualization project added functionality to a pulse oximeter to track the blood concentration of Doxorubicin in real-time during chemotherapy. ► Prototyped & enhanced device to accommodate new LEDs and photodetectors using SolidWorks & MakerBot. ► Trouble-shot various problems incorporating commercial components for our specific application. ► Used laboratory mice, compared in-vivo data from the device to in-vitro (blood draw) spectrophotometry data. ► Gained HIPAA certification to work directly with Oncologists and their patients.
