The Beery Lab studies the comparative neurobiology of sociality- neurobiological pathways that support sociality (group-living) and affiliative social behavior between peers.In the lab, I've taken on roles sectioning neural tissues on a cryostat, preparing histology slides for IHC and autoradiography assays, taking tissue samples for genotyping, administering general anesthesia, maintaining vole colonies, designing studies, and learning about regulatory affairs such as obtaining research permits and approvals.
