About Narayana Rao Chalasani

With over 10 years of work experience in the field of mechanical engineering with an emphasis on thermal and heat transfer, I am a passionate and innovative Principal Research Engineer at Johns Manville, a leading manufacturer of insulation, roofing, and engineered products. My core competencies include product design, analysis, development, and optimization using advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) techniques. My mission is to create and enhance products that meet customer needs, improve energy efficiency, and reduce environmental impact. I enjoy working with cross-functional teams, collaborating with internal and external partners, and sharing my knowledge and expertise with others. In my current role, I lead the R&D product design life cycle, from ideation to validation, for new and existing products. I use ANSYS software to conduct 3D modeling, simulation, and testing of glass fiberizer, a key component of insulation products. I also provide recommendations for design enhancements, material selection, operational support, and failure analysis. I have developed and validated novel techniques and workflows that have increased the product performance, life, and reliability, while reducing the cost and time of prototypes and trials. I have also published several technical reports and presented my findings to research teams, customers, and senior management.
