Application Services 3 (AS3): AS3 is a flexible, low-overhead mechanism for managing application-specific configurations on a Big-IP system. I am primarily responsible for adding and maintaining service discovery capabilities in AS3. I designed a scalable system to discover nodes in each supported cloud and add them to pools in the Big-IP. Service discovery in AS3 supports AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, with Consul support coming soon. I also enabled various other features in AS3 such as the ability to send asynchronous requests (required for large declarations). Application Connector: Application Connector allows users to securely connect public clouds to data centers, enabling a hybrid cloud infrastructure. I was primarily responsible for the design and implementation of a rules engine which setup various resources on a Big-IP system based on tags associated with nodes discovered in the cloud. The tags are matched against a set of conditions the user can specify and actions are executed if all conditions are met. I also designed a state maintenance system which will track which tags resulted in which actions, with the ability to undo said actions if the tags were later removed or changed. The rules engine is extremely flexible, enabling a variety of automated tasks such as setting up a virtual server and providing it with a scalable pool of nodes to offload work to.

I extended the Java bindings of Open MPI to include the functions added in the 3.1 version of the MPI Standard. I worked on a project called LibJFabric which would provide Java bindings for the Libfabric project. I contributed to a project called UCX by finding and reporting bugs, as well as doing some initial work on providing support for Intel Omni-Path. In addition, I assisted with software installation and system administration tasks for an experimental cluster to be used for an OpenSHMEM project for the Department of Defense.
