Doing what I love!As a Human Resources Consultant, with over 17 years of progressive experience, I've gained expertise in HR Operations, Employee Relations and Performance Management. Throughout my career, I have worked to implement and formalize HR practices and policies, new hire orientations, managerial training classes and student intern programs; while also facilitating the roll-out of new HR programs and technologies. Currently, I serve as an HR Consultant for the City of Arlington. My primary responsibility is to provide coaching and counsel to managers and employees in various departments within the city government structure. Prior to joining the City of Arlington, I managed the HR function for regional offices of an international insurance broker. In this role, my primary focus was HR operations, employee relations/conflict management; performance management and full-cycle recruiting and on-boarding. During my tenure there, we opened and staffed 4 new offices and increased headcount by 96% over an eight year period. Previous HR experience includes two years as a Recruiter/Generalist at the local office of a national non-profit. Prior to preparing and transitioning into a career in Human Resources, I enjoyed a career spanning 11-years with the Dallas Regional Chamber. While there I served in several roles, coordinating efforts for the start-up of new departments such as the Minority Business Development Department and the Women's Business Development Department. Working with the Dallas business community lead to my final role at "The Chamber" as Director of Membership Development and Volunteer Leadership. In this role, I lead the Total Resource Campaign for three years, working with over 100 Dallas area corporate volunteers and Chief Executives from major businesses throughout the metroplex, growing the campaign revenue to well over $1.5M.During my career, I have been recognized with several awards in recognition of exemplary performance. Colleagues would describe me as a consensus builder; one who is able to conceptualize and present creative ideas, communicate the benefits and bring people together to get the job done. My approach with internal customers is to always be open and available, while projecting a high level of commitment, compassion and straightforwardness when addressing their needs and concerns.
