A fully bilingual (English/French) port professional having 20 years of experience (2004-2023) at the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA), initially working as Assistant Commercial Manager (2004-2011) in charge of the Commercial Section of the Authority. Then I was offered the post of Manager Port Operations in 2011. Since 2014, I was requested to shoulder the additional duties of the Director Port Operations, who went on retirement and I was subsequently promoted to Acting Director Port Operations in 2019. Throughout my career path, I have also developed strong communication (Speaker at local/ international levels) and I also interact with various other government institutions/ private stakeholders of the maritime community Career to date is also made up of 13 years (1998-2011) in the field of marketing as Assistant Commercial Manager at the MPA (2004-2011). Prior to that I joined the national TV and radio station, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation in 2002 as Marketing Executive at with an exposure to the advertising and media world (2002-2004). From 1998-2002, I was employed started as Marketing Officer at Happy World Marketing Co. Ltd., a wholesale distributor of household appliances (1998-2002.). In fact, after graduation, I started my career as Education Officer at Curepipe College (1996-1998).I am presently a member of the International Advisory Board of Ecole du Management EM Normandie since 2021 and also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). I was also the President (2011 to 2016) of the local branch of the Association of Women Managers in the Maritime Sector in Eastern and Southern Africa (WOMESA), an organisation under the aegis of IMO working for the promotion of women in the maritime industry. I was a member of the MEXA Logistics Council from 2008 to 2012.
