CurrentHired to help expand Cisco’s flagship cloud demonstration platform, dCloud, to other geographical regions. Since then, engaged in numerous subsequent projects aimed at improving, maintaining and optimising dCloud which is used by 62,000 unique users in 156 countries. Projects Included• Deployment of dCloud in Singapore, Shanghai, London and San Jose. Worked with local teams to ensure successful deployments in each geo. • Working in conjunction with Cisco’s Facilities team to buildout a new data centre in EMEAR. Included the migration of 40 racks of equipment.• Amazon Web Services migration. Migrated aspects of dCloud front-end to AWS following feasibility study.• Built out new data centre for dCloud in Americas with budget of $7.4m. New facilities included increased power, cooling, space and resilience that will serve dCloud for the next 10 years. Migration will include 80 racks of equipment with minimal disruption to end-users.• Increasing concurrency across sites through significant re-architecture, compute and storage upgrades. This included lengthy testing and POC phases to minimise disruption to end-users globally. Concurrency in some sites increased by as much as 500%Day-to-day project management responsibilities:• Project planning, measuring progress, resource scheduling, resource monitoring, estimating and budget management• Stakeholder management/engagement often up to Senior Director Level• Managing project teams, external suppliers and internal teams• Risks and issues management, quality assurance and testing, change management• Recommending and implementing process improvement across the Project Office and Service Delivery organisation• Communications management to project teams, stakeholders and end-users• Project documentation, project briefs, highlight reports, business cases and end-stage reports• Often involved in the recruitment process for new hires• Supplier and vendor management and negotiation
