I am Vice President in Model Development Group of Risk Management Solutions (RMS). I have around 18 years of professional experience in Catastrophe modeling industry. Currently I am responsible for the research and development of global earthquake and terrorism products. The direct annual revenue of these products is around $100M and the revenue from the derivative products based on earthqauke and terrorism models would be around $30M. My responsibilities include setting up research and development agenda based on client feedback and market research, provide guidance to the developers, actively working with software and QA group, and lead the product roll out activities including client engagements. Over the years, I have worked on loss estimation for hurricanes, earthquakes, and other natural hazard as well as man-made hazards like terrorism. I have worked on developing the simulation framework for the RMS platform. I have worked with different research institutions and universities to develop different components of catastrophe models. I am currently a member of Steering committee of US National Hazard Mapping project to review and guide research results for US National hazard map. I have organized and chaired sessions in many national and international conferences. I have co-authored books and published research results in leading journals.Prior to joining RMS, I have managed a number of projects to develop and update models for earthquakes, hurricanes, and winter storms in Applied Insurance Research (AIR) and EQECat. I have also worked with banks and financial institutions on securitization of risks for earthquakes and hurricanes.
