In the Boarding House alongside other staff I care for 100+ students and their overall well-being. This involves creating a safe family environment that is truly a home away from home. A positive boarding environment allows students to be safe, healthy and challenged. I was also Acting Director for a term in 2021 which was a great challenge and experience.

As Dean of Mackenzie House I am responsible for the overall care and well-being of the 96 students in my House from Years 7 to 13. This involves processes like academic tracking, goal-setting/parent interviews, and a huge emphasis on character development. This role also sees me planning several events such as Chapel Services, House Dinners for families, and organizing several other house events.

I am a teacher of MYP Science and Senior Biology at Scots College. Here I teach both the IB curriculum and the National NCEA. I also have been involved in designing/implementing a new Science course for the entire Y11 cohort where students have engaged in a practical, project based learning environment with an emphasis on New Zealand Ecology.

At CZSS I taught G10 Math and Science, as well as G11-12 Chemistry in the British Colombia curriculum. Students were non-native English speakers so language was a priority in courses, as well as preparing them for life outside China. I was also involved in teaching sports as a co-curricular activity.
