Develop and implement Lab policies and procedures. Coordinate with undergraduate research students on issues which impact laboratory services. Oversee that all experiments being conducted meet safety and ethical standards. Create and develop new experiments in order to help describe behaviors, understand why and how events happen, and solve real-world problems. Currently researching the effects of temporal discounting on college students, and things that may affect ones discounting abilities. Creating experiments consists of a working knowledge of the use of: Qualtrics, an online survey builder, Sona, a research scheduling system, and more complex tools. These complex tools include both eye tracking softwares - Gaze Tracker, Ogama, and its hardware Mirametrix - allowing for the design of more elaborate experiments. Another tool used is the Noldus FaceReader, which detects facial expressions and a range of emotions. Other than creating new experiments, one also gathers and interprets the data, as well as, solve any technical issues. Other responsibilities include: supervising undergraduate researchers, scheduling lab hours for assistants and participants, creating psychological measures and surveys, data analysis and coding, and assisting professors with manuscripts.
