I graduated from Calvin College in 2012 with a BS in Engineering, Chemical concentration.Upon graduation, I began my professional life as an Associate Chemical Engineer at Ampac Fine Chemicals.As a chemical engineer in a manufacturing setting, it is necessary to take a very active approach towards work. My position has challenged me to continually finding ways to improve the manufacturing process to produce products more efficiently while maintaining the company and regulatory standards for safety and quality. In addition to improving existing processes, I have had the opportunity to work as part of a product development team by developing manufacturing procedures for new products and implementing them in the plant on a commercial scale. This position has taught me the importance of effective communication and teamwork to solve engineering problems that arise during the manufacturing process and to successfully hit production targets and project goals. .
