I am a skilled Communications Professional with expertise in community engagement, administration, relationship management, and global DEI advocacy. My experience includes working with Friends of Diversity, Botswana’s leading organization dedicated to empowering the LGBTQ+ community. In this role, I facilitated a variety of events and support groups, utilizing my creative problem-solving skills, confident public speaking abilities, and experience in designing and delivering capacity-building workshops and webinars.In 2018, I joined the international organization "Women Deliver," which champions gender equality and the rights of girls and women in all intersecting identities. In 2019, I was honored to be selected as a Youth Leader to attend their global conference in Vancouver, BC. This experience, including hearing inspiring speakers like Heather Jarvis, a queer activist and co-founder of SlutWalk Toronto, solidified my commitment to pursuing a career in Canada focused on human rights, generational equality, and advocacy for women's progress.After relocating to Toronto, Ontario in November 2021, I have continued my professional development through involvement with Black CAP, Rainbow Connect, the CIBC Mentorship Program, and the City of Toronto Work-Based Learning Program for newcomers. In my roles as an Administrative Assistant and Program Support, I have honed my skills in office coordination and administrative tasks. Notably, I initiated and successfully managed the "Let's Talk" program in 2022, which formed a Community Advisory Group (CAG) focused on Confronting Anti-Black Racism. The program achieved a 96% attendance rate, demonstrating my project management capabilities and commitment to addressing systemic issues.As a DEI Advocate, I am dedicated to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusivity through leadership, anti-oppressive practices, and a natural curiosity and eagerness to educate and inspire social change.
