With over 15 years of work experience in exercise physiology and sports nutrition, I am passionate about advancing the scientific knowledge and practice of human performance and health. My academic expertise is in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of skeletal muscle adaptation to exercise and nutrition. As a former associate professor at the University of Georgia, I taught and mentored undergraduate and graduate students, conducted and published original research, and secured multiple grants and awards.In addition to my academic career, I have also been a sports nutrition coach at Renaissance Periodization since 2018, working 1:1 with clients on customized plans to help them achieve their dieting goals. My specialty at RP is in coaching CrossFit clients on nutritional strategies to help improve their fitness. As a scientific consultant for CrossFit, Inc., I also provided expert advice and guidance on the development of educational programs related to exercise physiology and nutrition. I have strong skills in scientific writing, speaking, teaching, mentoring, and communication with clients and colleagues.
