My name is Nguyen Trong Nghia, currently working as a Policy Advisory Unit manager in RCEE-NIRAS. Graduated from Ha Noi University of Mining and Geology (B.E), and from Warsaw University of Technology (MSc.), in 2018, I started my journey with RCEE-NIRAS after 6 years working for Institute for Industrial Policies and Strategies, under Ministry of Industry and Trade. With 6 years of knowledge and experience working in the policy advisory institution for MOIT, I am in charge of policy and planning development for energy sector including power in Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program II, funded by USAID. I cover a wide range of policy research topics including implementation of power development plan (PDP-8) and energy master plan (EMP) in the light of Net Zero Emission committment, support development of legal framework for LNG infrastructure and LNG trading activities, competitive procurement in energy sector, renewable energy integration, power market development focusing on LNG-to-power in power market, battery storage and other DSM/DR options, electric vehicles, GHG inventory and mitigation taking into account ETS development, etc. Counterparts of my activities include Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority (EREA), Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV), Oil, Gas and Coal Department (OGCD), Institute of Energy Viet Nam (IEVN), Electricity Corperation of Viet Nam (EVN), Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI), PetroVietnam (PVN), international research institutions such as NREL, HNEI, and many clean energy investors.
