Fortified with international commercial banking experience at ABN AMRO (a Dutch bank later acquired in the U.S. by Bank of America), including broad experience in process re-engineering, internal consulting, and global sustainability, I transitioned to higher education first at the Center for Real Estate at Marquette University and, later, as part of the team that launched the Center for Financial Security at the UW-Madison School of Human Ecology. I took on increasing levels of responsibility at the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Administration.As the Chief Administrative Officer for the Department of Surgery at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Affairs, I manage and lead of one of the nation's top surgical academic departments. I have been recognized for achievements in the integration of new media technologies into the dissemination of original research to a global audience and for administration of multi-million dollar research grants from the Social Security Administration and U.S. Department of the Treasury.
