Supply Chain Management: Demand Unit: Needs Analysis Duties Identify commodities frequently required in comparison with the market offer. Determining proper / correct product or item specifications prior to placing an order to ensure that the supply chain management unit buys the correct and required product. Conduct inspection on suppliers to ensure that compliance of supply chain management business ethics are met. Determine a strategy on how to approach the market to ensure that an equitable distribution of business. Conduct expenditure, commodity, market and industry analysis to determine expenditure trend, type of commodities frequently required and alternative to what the market offers. Analyze the demand management plan in order to assess its relation to the strategic and operational plan.  Interact with user department`s Project Managers on submission of their projects or items to the Bid Specification Committee for consideration. Request of comparative quotations in the market. Assist in consolidation of the demand management plans as per regular requests from users. Conduct market research for new products that can be beneficial to the Municipality. Regular update or servicing of our database with current or trendsetting commodities. Promote and foster sound relationship with suppliers on the database and those outside, market the Municipality and ensure sustainable relations. Assist with arranging quarterly / bi-annual demand management plans meetings with users Monthly reporting to the Supply Chain Practitioner Needs Analysis and Planning on key operational activities.
