As a Community Outreach Manager, I serve as a dedicated liaison between San Francisco businesses, residents, and stakeholders and engage in regular outreach efforts to ensure everyone in our community is well-informed about the resources available to them.Lead and oversee the Outreach Team to ensure city-wide engagement of businesses, residents, and stakeholders, fostering a sense of community and connection.Collaborate closely with OEWD staff to assist businesses, residents, and stakeholders in resolving issues. Foster a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing assigned corridors/neighborhoods and the resources being deployed within them.

As an External Affairs Officer, I focus on conducting community emergency preparedness education and outreach, developing and issuing emergency public information, and processing and responding to public requests for information. This includes outreach and engagement strategies for the community with a focus to reach populations such as immigrant communities, people with limited English proficiency, seniors, and youth. Other responsibilites include:* Conduct and coordinate in multicultural community emergency preparedness education and engagement opportunities with a focus to serve vulnerable communities by participating in annual, community-led outreach events such as Carnaval and Sunday Streets. *Provide consultation and guidance as a Bilingual Spanish speaker for improvements to emergency preparedness materials to engage and inform Latino communities.*Serve as the on-call Public Information Officer on a rotational basis to respond to media inquiries and conduct press conferences during emergencies.*Develop and provide oversight of social media copy and graphics for DEM’s editorial calendar to promote all-hazards life-safety information.
