Born and raised in Lisbon, where I studied and worked until 2022. In 2023 I embraced a new professional challenge and moved to Dublin.Having studied at the German School of Lisbon allowed me to learn German, English and French as well; this was but my first multicultural experience and a fundamentally formative one. I continued my education at Instituto Superior Técnico, obtaining my MSc in Engineering Physics with a major in Financial Mathematics, achieving First Class Honours. It was also there I started my career, as researcher, after which I got into the corporate world at Maksen, where I stayed for two years and took part in projects in the finance and banking area, particularly in Risk Management. During these 2 years I was starting the development of a PhD programme in Financial Mathematics (namely developing a default risk model for sovereign debt). In the meantime, I went back to the academic world, at Instituto Superior Técnico, knowing this would be a stepping stone before applying to a research grant ISEL - University of Lisbon, to which I successfully applied in early 2014; however, due to personal issues following the financial crisis, I felt the most responsible choice at that time would be to return to Consultancy.From 2014 - 2019 I worked as a Consultant, first at Aubay and, from 2015 onward, at the Ministry of Finance. the start of an 8 year cycle where I worked closely with both politics and the public sector, including 3 years at the Portuguese Treasury and Debt Management office and, from 2020 to 2021, as Advisor at the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Finance during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Parallel to my full time jobs, from 2015 to 2017 I studied to become a fitness instructor; since 2017 I have worked part time a Fitness Instructor the the Health Clubs chain Holmes Place and Pump Fitness Spirit.In 2023 I accepted a position at AIB in Dublin, which started a new personal and professional chapter, one I am still currently writing...On a personal level, I love to travel, my current goal being discovering Ireland's countryside. Aside from common interests (reading, movies and series, or music) I also enjoy playing the piano. Another passion of mine are Escape Games, mainly for the puzzle/cooperative problem solving and practical aspects associated with the solutions. I also try to be physically active, not just by going to the gym, being notoriously biased towards group fitness) but also by walking and cycling as much as possible in my daily life.
