As a humanities student, I aspire to make a change in the world, if not be the change. I believe to ‘always be kind’ to people around me as little goes a long way. To make the world a place place, I myself would have to be the start of a change, be it by contributing contributing to a social enterprise or setting up one of my own.My interest in helping out the underpriviledged was derived by my own experience, where I also learnt that somewhere out there people are having it worst. No matter the amount of people I have met and the stories I have heard, there are more to discover than what you already know. These were also further validated as I became a Buiness and Social Enterprise student. Being in the course has also allowed me to learn relevant social skills such as community mapping, qualitative research and people management. The projects that I conducted are to start up social enterprises, where I am able to apply my knowledge and skills. During my six-month internship at Park N Parcel, I was able to learn about the step-by-step process of a logistics company. I took on various roles under the administrative and customer service department, where I assissted in responding to clients on their product delivery status and responding to customer on any queries. I was also handling diect payments that were made to hundred over clients monthly, where I have to ensure punctuality and accuracy of these payments to ensure client satisfaction. These tasks have helped me to hone my interpersonal and conflict management skills where I have to handle difficult customers and situations.
