I am a jewelry designer based in Istanbul, Turkey. After getting my Urban Design Master degree from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Faculty of Architect, I realized that I’m more interested in three dimensional objects, sculptors, forms and art. Then I decided to give another aspect of my life and I stepped into the jewelry design world in 2002 and two year later I opened my studio. My first designs had inspired from city plans and landscapes. The name of my first collection was “Texture”, which had different patterns, textures on jewelries. I still like to use different textures on my designs. I combine modern and traditional forms and techniques. The pieces which I designed must be able to be worn, the materials and textures must be compatible against the skin and/or clothing, and the form and shapes have to move with or consciously against the human body. I use silver, gold and precious/ semiprecious stones. I live in a multicultural and historically rich country and they foster my creativity a lot. Gold and jewelry is a part of our culture and life. Therefore I consider myself lucky. Since 2004, I work with different shops and companies in and outside of Turkey and sell my collections. I’m partner with local casting houses, stone-setters and suppliers. Everything is made in Grand Bazaar, Istanbul, Turkey. Since November 2014, I also have my own design gallery in Beyoglu, Istanbul.
