Being an IT System Engineer in Abbvie entails me doing the following:- I work with vendors, team members, and project managers, business analysts to formulate designs based on Client BTS standards and requirements.I ensure the availability and stability of the server environment and support the architecture of the server environment by enforcing deployment practices, build procedures, and change management.I install and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and software, analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action.I also perform design tasks and develop components of infrastructure and technical architecture and coordinate with team, managed service providers, and vendors to implement server and storage based solutions.I develop test cases and data; execute tests for the infrastructure or technical architecture components.Inform the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project.I identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes and assist in troubleshooting software application issues. I am in-charge in handling in the daily IT operations in PSA.I handle both front-end users activities and backend systems management activities.For front-end user activities, I handle a group of resident engineers to plan, direct and motivate them to execute SOP at level 1 to level 2 support. I also perform roadshows to cascade new I.T. solutions such as the usage of Exchange Online, OneDrive, Sharepoint Online, Online Email Archive. This is in line with providing outreach to fellow colleagues, to empower them to work productively and collaborate effectively & securely, for the people, by the people.I also provide weekly and monthly report to management to establish the current rollout status as well and improve on current work processes. One of the work process that I improve is the PC Tender lifecycle.As for backend systems management, I provide the backend infrastructure to make the front-end user services a success. For instance, establish the standards and SOPs for the rollout of Sharepoint Online and other Office 365 applications.I am also involved in the rollout for the Azure Stack. For instance migrating on-prem Windows Server 2008 over to Azure Stack.I still provide consultative advice for the maintenance and improvement for on-prem email exchange, file server, endpoint antivirus.My current role evolves to more planning, directing, coaching and giving consultative advice to level 0 to level 2 colleagues, providing them insights and motivate them to execute current and new tasks & projects. This also include reporting to management at weekly, monthly and quarterly milestone.This also includes running the PC Tender 2020/2021. PC tender project is getting different external vendors to provide the support and servicing for the PC-related matters for the year 2020/2021.My additional role is to support Senior Management Committee (SMC) individuals.
