During this term, I have worked on new product development, product improvement, cost reduction, product comparison, alternative raw material studies and customer complaints. Long term projects were also performed. Each study that I’ve performed was reported regularly to department manager and in addition to these, monthly R&D activity report was presented in English to foreign partners of the company. During the adaptation period of SAP, formulations and their specifications were defined on the system. In addition, a new kind of process equipment called Ystral have been investigated and the effects of the equipment on the process quality were observed.

o During the internship in R&D Department of Arcelik Dishwasher Plant, a study was performed in order to prevent odor formation. Mass and energy balance calculations were performed among plant heater.

o During the internship in Kırıkkale plant of TUPRAS, the processes those are used to refine crude oil, the products obtained after refining process and the properties of these products were observed. Mass and energy balance calculations were performed by using the data which belong to U-1650 Diesel Desulphurization Unit.

o Distribution process of natural gas, the equipment those are used in distribution process and their working principles were observed during internship. Engineering calculations were performed especially by using Bernoulli Principle and 1st Law of Thermodynamics.
