PhdStanford University Sep 2014 - Jan 2021Stanford, Ca, UsVittorio Sebastiano Lab at Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. My work is centered around preimplantation embryo development and stem cells. My approach is studying catabolic processes/metabolism/chromatin dynamics in preimplantation embryos/stem cells that can affect cellular developmental quality. -
Developmental Biology, Teaching AssistantStanford University Mar 2018 - Jun 2018Stanford, Ca, UsBIO160. Taught by Dr Kristy Red-Horse, Department of Biology. This course covers the molecular mechanisms underlying the generation of diverse cell types and tissues during embryonic and post-embryonic animal development. Topics include the role of cell-cell communication in controlling developmental decisions, the organization and patterning of large groups of cells via morphogen signaling, the specification of individual cell types, and the role of stem cells in development. The course emphasizes the experimental logic and methods of research in developmental biology and includes discussions of research papers. -
Cell And Molecular Biology Laborotory, Teaching AssistantStanford University Jan 2016 - Mar 2016Stanford, Ca, UsBIO44x (BIO45) Investigate yeast strains that are engineered to express the human protein, p53, and use modern molecular methods to identify the functional consequences of p53 mutations isolated from tumor cells. Learn about the protein's role as a tumor suppressor through lectures and by reading and discussing journal articles. Use molecular visualization programs to examine the structure of wild type and mutant p53 proteins. Formulate a testable hypothesis and assay the ability of mutant p53 to direct expression of several reporter genes. During guided reflection, formulate further analyses to determine whether mutant p53 is present in the cell, can bind to DNA, and/or can enter the nucleus. Conduct lab experiments, present findings through a team oral presentation, as well as a scientific poster. -
