Working as a licensed nurse in a senior care / long-term care setting with residents with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other memory impairments. Provide care and treatment in accordance with physician’s orders. Responsible for monitoring patients, developing patient care plans, implementing treatments and providing guidance to the residents and their family. Directly responsible for supervising caregiver and CNAs, overseeing the care provided to the residents in the community. Proficient knowledge of ALSMA, Yardi, and Yardi EHR.

Work under the direction of my registered nurse (RN) supervisor and physicians. Duties include but limited to assessing patients by physical examination, including pertinent diagnostic testing to determine health status. Administer medication and treatments. Participate in the care planning process. Supervises LPNs and CNAs. Communicates with physicians regarding changes in residents’ conditions, diagnostic test results, etc. Document assessments and care in compliance with standards of care and company policy. Educate patients and their families on health-related issues. As well as completing required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations. Work in a team environment and within my scope of practice as defined by the state of Texas

Oversee and manage toxicology department. Performed urinalysis and genetic testing on patients. Responsible for accurately, collecting, handling, and processing all specimens; as well as the preparation for collected specimens to be packed and shipped, documentation and data entry. Ordered medical and office supplies as needed and maintained inventory. Perform clerical duties including operating computers, fax machines, maintain files and logs associated with specimen collection, and accessing and compiling data and reports as required. Understood and followed all laboratory safety practices included but not limited to infection control and OSHA Blood borne Pathogen guidelines.

Provide personal care to the patient in a compassionate and understanding manner consistent with the hospice philosophy. Maintain the dignity of the dying patient. Assist patient with ADL’s by assisting with light housework, bathing, cooking cleaning help with toileting and etc…Provide good body alignment, positioning, and range of motion exercises for non-ambulatory patients. Assist with routine catheter care and enemas according to the plan of care. Dispense oral, inhalation and topical medications to patients. Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses. Monitor the patient's vital signs, calculate medication dosages and stock the medication cart, also record what medications were given for the day and the dosage in the nurse's medication administration record (MAR) chart. Support the patients and family’s unique spiritual and cultural beliefs. Provide holistic, family-centered care across treatment settings to improve the quality of life. Monitor and record temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure, as directed by the RN Significant changes in the patient’s condition will be reported to the RN immediately.

Duties consisted of providing overall support for physicians and office operations. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Give injections and assists with lab testing and phlebotomy. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals. Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments. Screen telephone calls for referral to physician.

Interview patients, measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and record information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients. Clean and sterilize instruments. Inventory and order medical supplies and materials. Operate x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or call medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests. Schedule appointments, receive money for bills, keep x ray and other medical records, perform secretarial tasks, and complete insurance forms. Key data into computer to maintain office and patient records. Keep billing records, enter financial transactions into bookkeeping ledgers, and compute and mail monthlystatements to patients.
