I have 6+ years of in-center Hemodialysis Nursing experience and almost 10 years experience as a Registered Nurse. My biggest passion has always been the “very young” and the “very old”, who tend to need us the most and require just a bit more patience and compassion. On the other hand, they also have so much to teach us as nurses. As a young nursing student, I always had pictured myself to end up a Labor and Delivery Nurse or a Pediatric Nurse (which I still may pursue someday), but for now, I am so thrilled and surprised to have found my calling and my passion as a Hemodialysis Nurse. The special thing about HD Nursing is that since a patient must receive regular treatments approx. 4 hours per day, 3-4 days a week for the rest of their lives, we are blessed to be able to build very special long-term relationships with our patients that other nursing fields don’t get the opportunity to experience. In short, I feel so lucky to be one of the very few people in this world who can honestly say, I LOVE MY JOB!! :) I also love my other full-time job, mommy to a bright, funny, and kind-hearted 7-year-old boy. Lastly, I am attempting to adopt my step father’s 7-year-old granddaughter whom I’ve been fostering for the past 4 years.
