Age UK’s Engagement team’s core objective is to deliver an Age UK group wide engagement strategy to keep older people at the heart of our work. Since joining the team I have led on the design and publication of an Age UK Engagement toolkit, trained Age UK staff in best practice in engagement with older people, developed a public engagement listening tool and We Are Listening events held across England. Led set up and management of a number of working groups with older people. I have also enjoyed development of free mystery shopper and workshop facilitation training courses to enable older people to evaluate both Age UK and external organisations products and services. I work closely with a diverse range of large age sector organisations, retiree groups, campaiging groups, older LGBT and BMEE groups to engage growing numbers of older people in a consultation projects. I enjoy working with organisations in the private, public sectors and academic world to listen to the expert voices of older people to develop new products and services and to develop research projects.

I was invited to join Age Concern's membership division, Heyday, in 2006. I set up and developed Heyday's corporate sales pipeline. I played a pivotal role in growing Heyday's corporate membership by promoting Heyday to H.R. professionals as the modern solution to retirement planning for staff. Heyday gained 3,000 plus members via the corporate engagement model. Due to the merger between Age Concern and Help the Aged, Heyday ceased to exist on March 31st as the newly created charity made the decision to move away from a paid membership scheme. I joined Age Concern's market research division, A.C.R.S. in 2004. A.C.R.S. is a market research divison within Age Concern Enterprises Ltd that provides research insights into the 50+ age. The focus of the role was to sell research products to organsations that want to develop products and services for the mature market. I set up a major paid conference for Insight and Segmentation professionals to help them gain a better undertanding of issues that face the 50+ age group.
