I gained a vast amount of invaluable experience and contacts on this large scale hospital project. This has been emphasized by working alongside many other engineers from a wide range of backgrounds and the impressive large scale building services systems employed. In conjunction with producing reports, sizing plant equipment, checking design drawings and raising equipment orders I was responsible for managing and delegating engineering design work. Providing engineering solutions to work within site constraints was normal practice, this was due to the nature of the project and its history.

At LNT Construction I was responsible for all of the mechanical design, sourcing of equipment, commissioning and managing of sub-contractors. I designed all the renewable energy systems that were installed on all projects which include solar thermal, solar photovoltaics, air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps. I enjoyed working at LNT Construction and appreciated the responsibility and trust I had been given. My product knowledge within the industry increased a great deal and excellent relationships with many manufacturers and suppliers were made.

I joined the company at junior level but quickly progressed to intermediate level, taking on new responsibilities. I have the ability to effectively make use of all aspects of Hevacomp software producing calculations that coincide with designs. Although software is available I prefer to use design methods that I have learnt during my academic period. I understand the full comprehension of contracting protocols and demands. I have increased my knowledge and understanding within all aspects of mechanical building services, developing new skills to design efficient and value engineered building services. I have gained additional experience in many different types of projects such as schools, student accommodation, office buildings, car parks, hotels, care homes, theatres and swimming pools.Reason for leaving: company went into administration.

I continued to extend my knowledge within building services and gained experience in areas of heating within domestic and commercial buildings. I developed skills and understanding within designing, troubleshooting, installing and commissioning underfloor heating systems. I developed an excellent understanding for renewable energy systems especially ground source heat pumps. Acquired an excellent knowledge within Microsoft excel.Reason for leaving: relocated to Yorkshire

I started my building services career as an apprentice going to college one day a week. I was involved in most activities within the company contributing to contract management, design, quotation, commissioning of ventilation systems and representation. I worked on buildings such as police stations, supermarkets, hospitals and hotels. I was involved in the design, contract management and commissioning of ventilation systems during the large Safeways to Wm Morrisons revamp project. Reason for leaving: relocated to Cumbria
