Researching on Human-Computer Interaction(HCI) and improving the learning experience with new technologies including smart-glasses and Augmented Reality.

Worked as a full stack engineer, a release manager and an analyst for root causes. During this time;- Managed the integrating chip (EMV) and contactless transaction processing with the "Cake" Point of sales (POS) machines, and the plug and play support for payment devices.- Collaborated in integrating the new V3 hardware with the existing Cake POS system along with brightness controlling to achieve a romantic ambiance in restaurants.- Re-organized the (SWAT ) team wiki space to enable faster accessibility, quick onboarding, and to guide on repository management and continuous integration.- Investigated production issues such as: troubleshooting magnetic stripe reader issues, POS device boot up issues, and issues with the POS customer touch display (CTD), and provided solutions- Developed the proof of concepts on remotely upgrading POS device OS from 32-bit to 64-bit (Canonical Landscape), and enabling WiFi access point (hotspot) in POS machines.

Collaborated on integrating new hardware devices to the Cake POS (http://www.trycake.com/products/restaurant-pos-system/). In addition to that, I also worked in the EMV integration phase with Cake POS and payment gateway.

I studied as an undergraduate in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. It is the most amazing experience in life! Learned the theories and principles behind the electronics gadgets and networks we interact with every day. Moreover, robotic competitions, programming challenges, and (field) trips enabled me to appreciate the applications of what we learned and how to apply them in real life.

E-club is the Official Society of Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, University Of Moratuwa. As a sub-editor of E-club, I managed the Sri Lankan Robotics Competition website in 2013 and engaged in several activities by following the motto “Serving humanity through electronics”.

I enjoyed the work as a research intern at Augmented Senses Group (Now, Augmented Human Lab http://ahlab.org/) under Assistant Professor Suranga Nanayakkara (http://suranga.info/). During this period I prototyped and tested a non-invasive stroke rehabilitation device and several other augmented devices which enhance the capabilities/senses of users. This was my entrance into the Human-Computer Interaction field. Thank you Prof. Suranga.
