With over 18 years of experience in management, strategy, finance, audit, and general management, I currently hold the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Softlogic Life Insurance PLC. My career is marked by significant contributions to the field of finance and accounting, both within my organization and in the broader professional community.I have the honor of being the youngest CFO recognized by CMA Sri Lanka and have received the prestigious Best CFO Award. My professional involvement extends to serving as a Governing Council member (elect) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and currently as a Council member of the Open University of Sri Lanka. Additionally, I have chaired the Insurance Industry CFO Forum of Sri Lanka for over five years.In my capacity at the CA Sri Lanka, I actively contribute to various committees and task forces, including chairing the Task Force to Develop Non-Financial Reporting Practices in Sri Lanka and participating in the Continuing Professional Development Committee, and the Student Enrollment and Promotion Committee. Furthermore, I am a member of the Sustainability Reporting and Assurance Committee of the South Asian Federation of Accountants, the Standard Interpretation Committee, and the IFRS 17 Implementation Task Force of Sri Lanka.Professionally , I am a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA), Associate Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)- United Kingdom and an Associate member of the Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. I hold a Master’s in Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Business Management Finance Special Degree from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.In my role as CFO at Softlogic Life, I am integral to the company's overall management, reporting directly to the Managing Director. I lead the business strategy team, contribute to the formulation of the company’s strategy, and am a core member of the Product Development and ALCO committees. My participation extends to board meetings, the Board Audit, Investment, Risk, and related party committees.Under my leadership, we have streamlined finance operations significantly, earning over 60 accolades both nationally and internationally. Moreover, I have contributed as an industry expert in drafting the Insurance syllabus for the Department of Finance and Department of Accountancy at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
