Nico led the University of Toronto Engineering Skule Alumni Outreach program as Director for two terms to transform the alumni/student community experience. Nico started the initiative and it successfully became an official directorship and portfolio of the Engineering Society. As a Transportation Systems Designer, Nico contributed to multi-disciplinary teams to review, conceptualize, design, manage, implement and construct intelligent transportation systems (ITS), advanced transportation management systems (ATMS), computer network systems, and road safety systems for highways, toll highways, bridges, roads, transit systems, light rail transit, bus rapid transit systems, traffic management centres and other types of transportation infrastructure across North and South America. Nico completed work in several project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build, Public-Private-Partnership (P3 / PPP), Direct Delivery, and Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain (DBFOM). Nico also contributed to transportation projects for the Toronto Pan Am / Parapan Am Games in 2015.
