The Princess Máxima Center is a unique innovation in highly complex care, whereby all pediatric oncology expertise -care, research and knowlegde sharing- is bundled under one roof. The new building opened in 2018 and we began working safely and responsibly with a brand new organization. There is an enormous amount of inspiration and motivation from all our employees to take the next steps in finding cures and improving quality of life of children with cancer, their parents and families.The Princess Máxima Center brings together the best of different worlds. First of all, this is expressed in the integration of care and research: The Máxima Comprehensive Childhood Cancer Center (M4C) approach. Alongside this means a fully multidisciplinary approach, whereby medical, paramedical, nursing and scientific roles all work together around the child. Also expertise and innovations in terms of education and training, IDT (Information and Data Technology), HR, facilities management and communication are focused on contributing to the realization of our mission. The strategic partnership with UMC Utrecht and the Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis (WKZ) also delivers a wealth of expertise and knowledge. Furthermore we invest in good partnerships with many other stakeholders in the world of care, science, education, service provision and funding.
