• To Provide Jacking system assurance with the highest emphasis on safety and routine monitoring of Jacking Systems associated equipment, offshore operations and documentation across 15 offshore vessels between MENA/KSA and NWE• To carry regular offshore routine inspection of Jacking Systems and related equipment/documentation and procedures• To assist at budget times with preparation of running and projected repair costs• To monitor and assist vessel staff, keep vessels Jacking systems fully operational and compliant with company-client/industry standards• To attend vessels at short notice for troubleshooting/breakdowns; and to be available to respond to offer remote assistance and mitigate potential off hire situations regarding Jacking systems• To review and recommend process improvements from conception to implementation• To be present at mobilisations, dry dockings and repair periods to supervise Jacking System works• To be part of incident investigation teams as designated by the HSQE ManagerJacking systems on board our vessels are the following:• Gusto MSC GLL/50-6 (on board NG-2500X vessels)• Gusto MSC GLL/50-4 (on board NG-1800X vessels)• NOV-BLM B36 • NOV-BLM D20VAlso inclusive in my role, as part of the Asset Integrity team, is to be involved, and at times manage, other discipline work scopes, where required, on board vessels during maintenance periods/docking. This can range from Marine Technical aspects including FWM’s, STP’s, HVAC’s and general valve/piping etc. across the vessel, as well as Electrical aspects on a variety of equipment.In addition to the above roles, I am also a company authority within the PMS system, this being SE-E (ShipsExpert-Enterprise). My duties within the system include PMS routine alterations, additions across all equipment, as well as routine assessments of the PMS. I have been heavily involved in updating vessel Equipment list structures into this new system over the past 12-18 months.

My role as an Electrical Service Engineer sees me work in locations across the world, the job involves installing, commissioning and fault finding on large scale rig floor equipment used for oil and gas drilling purposes. Varying from Drill ships, Jack-Up, Semi-Submersible and Land rigs. The scope of work varies greatly depending on the contract acquired on that specific rig; I can be working entirely by myself, with the assistance of a drill crew or as a team with other NOV Engineers.Predominantly software based fault finding, firmware/hardware updates and upgrades using Siemens PLC, but also electrical/hydraulic and at times mechanical fault finding and installing on a wide variety of NOV equipment and systems listed below:Equipment and Systems worked on includes:• NOV Cyberbase Operating system• NOV Amphion Operating system • iFix HMI systems• Drilling Control Interfaces• Drilling Control Networks• Drilling Control and Data Acquisition• Drilling Flight Recorder system• Smart Drilling Instrumentation• Top Drives• Mud Pumps• Hydraulic Power Unit• Iron Roughnecks• Emergency Shut Down• Pipe Handling Equipment (HydraTong, HydraRacker) • Drawworks• Jacking System• CCTV systemsAnd any other NOV based equipment that is present on the Rig I am on, a good range and experience also working on Subsea equipment and jacking systems I also liaise with the customer and ensure they are happy with the performance of all NOV equipment on their rig while always adhering to safe systems of work and any rig specific aspects of safety that apply while onboard. I create a detailed report for all work that I carry out on a daily basis and include photographic evidence where necessary and also source and order any parts that the customer requires.
