Founded informally in the 1950s, the association organizes the State Street Art Fair and also works to influence Ann Arbor policy. Its goals focus around strengthening the 100+ member businesses that make up the association and bring more exposure to the State Street neighborhood.

The State Street District has been a key player in creating a vibrant downtown community in Ann Arbor for over fifty years. Entrepreneurs, building owners, national chains, non-profit organizations, University staff, and residents have all worked together to build a strong, service-oriented organization. The District has represented our neighborhood to various governmental bodies and worked closely with public agencies, the University of Michigan, the Downtown Development Authority, and other downtown associations in order to sustain an economically strong environment for area businesses.

What started as a volunteer position as a practice player has turned into a 4 season journey of working with the University of Michigan Women's basketball team. My responsibilities are all over the board. I handle the scheduling and recruitment of a team of 25 managers that serve as logistical aides to players and coaches during practices and games. When at practice, I ensure everything is set so coaches and administrators have nothing to worry about and are able to conduct practice without any problems. In the infrequent occasion that a problem does arise, I am responsible for solving it on the fly as soon as possible. As well as working practices, I travel with the team to away contests to assist with travel logistics and coordinating with opposing team's staff to make for a smooth game day.

I have played basketball my entire life and developed a passion for coaching. Every summer from Sophomore year of high school to my sophomore year in college I coached a youth basketball team in the American Youth Basketball Tour. These teams were both boys and girls and ranged in grade from 5th to 7th grade. During this time I also established a profitable shooting camp that taught more than 50 youth every summer the fundamentals of shooting.

Overheard@U was a website that created a user generated microblog for college students that heard or saw something funny while on campus. Myself and the two other co-founders saw a need for this platform with the numerous "Overheard at ______" Facebook groups popping up during our freshman year at U of M. My specific roles were communicating with a team of hired designers and programers to create the site that we envisioned in both looks and functionality. I also was responsible for maintaining the site on a daily basis. We saw activity from all over the country but ultimately it did not gain enough traffic to be worth keeping up with and funding.
