Ebele Nwokoye (nee Nwabude) is a Professor of Development and Human Resource Economics and the Immediate Past Head, Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Anambra State. She was also an Editor of Journal of Economic Studies which is a publication of the Unizik Department of Economics.She graduated with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the University of Uyo, Uyo Akwa Ibom State and has both a Masters degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Resource Economics and Development Economics respectively from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. She has contributed book chapters to some social science-based books, authored four books, and written quite a number of journal articles which have been published both locally and internationally. She also attends both national and international conferences. Ebele is an academic to the core and aspires to develop macroeconomic models which are useful in the formulation of theories relevant to the development of the African economy in general and the Nigerian economy in particular.She is a Research Fellow of the African Heritage Institute Enugu, Research Associate of the Center for Sustainable Development UNIZIK, as well as a Full Member of the Nigerian Economic Society. She serves as the Inaugural Chair for the Nigerian Economic Society, Anambra State Chapter. She is married with children.
