Michael Kroll studied at Northern Illinois University (NIU) earning a BFA in Theatre Design & Technology with an emphasis in Technical Direction and a BS in Computer Science with an emphasis in Software Development. Since graduating he has work for Georgia Stage as a Rigger and Installer attaining ETCP Theatre Rigging Certification, for Upstaging Inc. as Fabrication Project Manager facilitating the build of set pieces for shows, conferences, and events, and for Redbox Workshop as a Project Manager working with children's museums to build new displays and interactive exhibits.His previous works with the NIU School of Theatre and Dance include Master Carpenter for The Importance of Being Earnest, and Assistant Technical Director for The Revolutionists, The Shipment, and The Time of Your Life. He has also worked as a Carpenter and Changeover Crew for the 2018 Season and Master Carpenter and Changeover Coordinator for the 2019 Season at the Lyric Repertory Company in Logan, UT. Outside of the theatre world he was a Production Assistant for the 2019 Live Design International Convention in Las Vegas.Outside of work he has a devoted interest in improving our cities and making them better places to live in. This includes making travel in and around the places we call home more accessible with better transit and micro-mobility options. He tries to take transit, bike, or walk to locations whenever possible and is not afraid to speak out to municipalities, legislators, and organizations when the ability to do that is hindered or even impossible.
