NX Filtration (NX) is a spin-off located in Enschede. NX is developing and producing highly innovative, chlorine resistant hollow fiber nano filtration membranes for water treatment processes with a strong focus on the removal of micro pollutants, but also softening, color removal, etc. Next to that NX has a strong position in the wine and beer market, offering high quality microfiltration membrane modules.

Per the first of October 2012 I started as so-called part-time (one day a week) professor leading the chair Advanced Membranes in the research cluster Membrane Science & Technology at the University in Twente.Given my background it is more than obvious that I will focuses my research on polymeric membranes. My research line addresses the development of novel membranes and the application of membrane technology for water treatment, e.g. water purification, desalination, membrane bioreactors and waste water treatment. More specific, subjects for my research are: • Solvent free membranes – Most polymeric membranes are based upon the phase inversion process, that starts with a polymer solution in aprotic solvents like, NMP, DMF, DMAc, all being heavily under pressure by new European Regulation coming up (REACH). Though in the past several routes are being explored, there is strong need for sustainable, solvent free membrane production processes.• Functionalization of membranes – Membranes that demonstrate a specific function or better combine more than one function, e.g. filtration and adsorption are requested in aqueous applications. Examples are the functionalization of UF/NF/RO membranes towards the rejection (and degradation) of micro-pollutants, by applying e.g. a layer-by-layer approach. • Development of novel capillary NF and RO membranes – Novel materials, combined with nanomaterials, applied in new membrane formation processes will be explored to find new production ways for nano-composite membranes.

De Raad van Toezicht van Roessingh werkt volledig volgens de laatste normen van de Zorgbrede Governancecode. Met de Zorg Governancecode willen brancheorganisaties een richtinggevend normenkader geven voor goed bestuur en goed toezicht. Kijk hier voor meer informatie over de Zorgbrede Governancecode. Naast het werken volgens de code houdt de RvT zich aan de richtlijnen van de Nederlandse Vereniging Toezichthouders in Zorginstellingen (NVTZ) en de Nederlandse Vereniging van Bestuurders in de Zorg (NVZD).Eén van de vereisten van de zorg governancecode is dat de RvT onafhankelijk is. De onafhankelijkheid van de leden van de Raad van Roessingh is geborgd in de statuten. Hierin staat onder andere omschreven welke personen geen toezichthouder kunnen zijn, bijvoorbeeld personen die in dienst zijn van de stichting en/of groep. Om gezamenlijk een integrale benadering van toezicht uit te kunnen oefenen hebben de verschillende leden van de RvT verschillende deskundigheidsgebieden. Bij het werven van nieuwe leden wordt een profielschets gemaakt. Daarbij wordt aandacht besteed aan voldoende deskundigheid en relevante kennis en ervaring in de zorg.

After more than 10 years of general management I picked up the challenge to create a team that was able to develop the next generation membrane concepts. The first generation was build upon relatively old IP from the late eighties, early nineties, so time for refreshment!

I became the Managing Director of X-Flow just after we were taken over by Norit NV in 1997. In fact this was also the first year we showed a nice profit after so may years of loss in the introduction years. Thereafter we realised very attractive "double digit" return of sales numbers. The "secret" was that we were focussing now on water, beer and wine, whereas we in the past covered a much broader area with our membrane concepts. We just had introduced our revolutionary XIGA concept, which still is the leading Ultrafiltration concept. Dutch PWN was here the launching customer.

After my PhD at Twente University I joined X-Flow initially as a R&D manager, than from 1992 M&S Manager, and after been taken over by Norit in 1997 I became the General Manager.

Development of hydrophilic microporous capillary membranes, and design of a transversal flow module. Based upon this work several patents were filed, forming the basis of the actual product portfolio of X-Flow

In deze periode gaf ik wiskunde aan het Twickel College (VWO/Havo). Veel energie gestoken in het moderniseren van het leerplan, en ook b.v. numerieke wiskunde met heuse computers geïntroduceerd.
