Hello! My name is Nyah and I am 22 years old. I grew up in Elkhart, Indiana and it has been my hometown for most of my life. I recently graduated from Purdue University with my Bachelors of Science. My major was Kinesiology and I minored in human development and family science. My goal is to save up before returning to school and earning my DPT (doctor of physical therapy) title.During my academic pursuit in health & human sciences, I had the privilege of working alongside esteemed professionals at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, IN, conveniently located near my hometown. This invaluable experience enabled me to accumulate more than 70 hours of shadowing experience under the guidance of highly skilled Physical Therapists. Throughout my time there, I observed and learned about effective patient communication strategies, the importance of empathetic engagement, and the detailed explanation of treatment outcomes. I gained practical insights into how therapists assess patient progress, discuss treatment efficacy, and motivate patients to adhere to prescribed exercises aimed at achieving full recovery and optimal health.
