As a UROP Leader I created engaging lesson plans and powerpoints to teach students about research in all fields of study. I co-led a biweekly class of around 19 students and assisted them in finding a research mentor.

As a reserach assistant under Dr. Scott Burgess, I was responsible for studying photos of coral colonies from the island Moorea in the French Polynesia to determine if coral size had an effect on its succeptibility to bleaching. I labeled and entered the data on about 1136 coral colonies total. Using ImageJ I estimated the size of the coral in the photos and entered this data onto excel where it was organized by ID and site of collection.
