Hello! I have a passion for caring for others and for gaining and sharing knowledge. I want to leave an impact on the world through teaching and advocating for the rights of our children. I believe that every student can learn and that it is of upmost importance to teach to the whole child (mental & physical health, academic, cognitive, identity, and social emotional development) and to teach each student equitably. Through my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology and my (in progress) Master's Degree in Secondary Education, I have developed many skills that have help transform me into an amazing future teacher and advocate. I have developed the skills to see perspectives beyond my own to be able to understand how others think and how culture can influence actions. I also understand the importance of systems of support, creating engaging learning environments, how to teach to students with special needs, and how to implement secondary education curriculum. Thanks to Grand Canyon University, I have had the chance to not only understand these topics in theory but also through practical application in field experiences that I have been participating in for the past two years.Outside of the experiences I have gained in college and grad school. I have also worked several Customer Service Jobs that have helped develop my problem solving and critical thinking skills. As well as equip me with valuable de-escalation techniques, active listening skills, and outstanding communication skills.
