I have completed an Advanced Degree (CAS) in Higher Education Administration at the University of Pennsylvania and am currently completing an on-line Ed.D at the Graduate Theological Foundation. My research topic at GTF is the “Martial Arts and the Education of At-Risk Youth.”I have extensive teaching experience in higher education at a variety of colleges and universities in both classroom and online courses. I also have considerable classroom teaching experience as a substitute teacher in the Chester Upland and Philadelphia School Districts, on both the elementary and secondary levels of education. I recently created, developed and taught an after-school Karate & Character Development program at Chester High School, which became quite popular. The program was implemented to give the students a safe place in which to develop positive behavior patterns and to adopt a method of self-defense and conflict resolution. This activity was seen as one which was much needed in schools and communities, amidst a widespread increase in violent behavior existing in our society today.
