Outside of my professional careerI have founded Hutt Valley Chinese Women Association in October 2013 as a play group. At present, there are over 150 Chinese families join in as members. We are aiming to help these families and also other ethnicity to settle in New Zealand properly.We are organizing various activities in a regular schedule: 1) Women leadership programmes 2) New migrants entrepreneurs forums 3) Employment/Job mentoring workshops 4) Family violence workshops & women self defence courses 5) Mental health workshops6) Community civil defense coordination 7) Hutt Valley Chinese New Year Festival8) Other traditional Chinese and western festivals.9) Chinese dance classes (adults & children); 10) Chinese classes for children and english classes for non-english speakersI am on the outlook for greater challenging opportunities where I may put to well use my networking skills and project management skills to help wider communities.

Upper Hutt

Upper Hutt Multicultural Council is a non profit organisation and operated by a group of volunteers. I work as its Secretary, which gives me opportunites to develop my cultural awareness and impart leadership when required. These skills help me put to use more effectively, multicultural communication to help migrants settle in New Zealand. I have been able to support an Upper Hutt Chinese senior group to arrange activities, such as women self defence course, health forums and dancing & singing classes, etc.
