As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I lead the digital and technology initiatives at GS1 New Zealand in a combined CIO/CTO/CDO role. GS1’s standards and systems play a critical role in the daily lives of New Zealanders. From licensing and managing GTINs (those barcodes on nearly every product) to running systems that support supermarkets, large retailers, and the national product recall service, GS1 is integral to the country’s commerce and safety. We even managed the location register behind the Covid QR code posters. Additionally, GS1 is a key part of the NZBN system, supporting businesses across the nation.My role involves leading a talented digital team dedicated to building and supporting tools that help Kiwi companies expand their reach within New Zealand and globally.

New Zealand's Inline Hockey clubs are grouped into 3 regional "conferences", with games mainly played between clubs in each conference. The largest conference, Kererū, includes 10 clubs stretching from Napier and Whanganui down to Wellington in the North Island and all of the South Island (incorporating the previous Southern and Lower North Island regions). I chair this conference/region.

The Logic Studio is a custom software and consulting company based in Dunedin New Zealand with clients throughout New Zealand and the world. I spun The Logic Studio out of ProSouth Solutions in 2010 (the full-scope technology services and software company I founded in Dunedin in 2001).Both companies were successfully sold (in 2010 and 2018 respectively) and continue to operate out of Dunedin.

Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for the CodeClub Aotearoa Charitable Trust, the organisation introducing thousands of school students to a technology future by establishing and overseeing code clubs in primary and intermediate schools across New Zealand. Chaired the Steering Group for the ICT Qualifications Review being jointly led by IITP and NZQA. This review created the new streamlined framework of qualifications that will replace all IT-related qualifications at levels 1-6 on the NZ Qualifications Framework.

The purpose of the online voting project is to future proof voting by designing an online voting system for New Zealand local government elections that is safe and secure. I founded ProSouth and grew it into the largest locally-owned IT solutions provider in Dunedin, covering the full spectrum from full-service IT solutions for SMEs through to custom software development. This included provision of software solutions to public and private clients in New Zealand, Australia, USA and elsewhere. I later spun The Logic Studio out of ProSouth as a company focusing entirely on software development (products and bespoke), and sold the rest of ProSouth. Both companies are still operating successfully in Dunedin.
