I joined HOK in the summer of 2023 to best pursue my passion for healthcare design at its highest scale. I am the Project Manager for HOK’s Seattle healthcare studio and bring a deep and diverse set of healthcare project management and design experience to our firm. I am currently managing the design of a new 500,000 square foot 350-Bed Forensic Hospital at the Western State Hospital campus in Lakewood, WA. This project brings much needed modern inpatient psychiatric care beds to the state while also being on track to be net zero energy upon completion in 2027, a first for a healthcare facility this size. Since joining the firm, I have been thoroughly impressed with the depth of talent, experience, and resources HOK has to offer and feel honored to be part of a team doing such revolutionary healthcare design work.

  • Ankrom Moisan Architects
    Project Architect
Ankrom Moisan Architects Jun 2018 - Nov 2019
    Seattle
While at Ankrom Moisan I was the Project Architect on a handful of small TI projects such as a Pharmacotherapy Clinic for Swedish Medical Center and feasibility studies for future Providence Health and Services clinics but my key project was the renovation of the Labor and Delivery Department within Evergreen Health’s Family Maternity Center. This project includes modernizing the existing LDRP rooms, expanding the NICU unit, and relocating the existing Ante/Postpartum units to another level in the building while maintaining operations throughout construction. In addition, an extensive seismic upgrade throughout all six levels of the structure will take place requiring complex coordination and phasing within fully operational facility.
  • Nac Architecture

Most notably the core and shell package of a 100 bed inpatient behavioral health facility in Spokane, WA and the the gut renovation of a Student Center originally built in 1960 in Great Falls, Montana. I have gained unique and in depth experience in the behavioral health design, the IPDL method and solving complex design issues regarding unexpected existing conditions including seismic upgrades and extensive abatement.
  • Blair + Mui Dowd Architects, Pc
    Junior Architect
Blair + Mui Dowd Architects, Pc Feb 2013 - Apr 2016
    New York, New York
I moved to New York City in search of more high profile medical work. After my first year with BMD architects I worked my way up to a lead design role on the most rewarding project I have been a part of in my career The Monroe Carell Jr Childrens hospital expansion in Nashville, TN. With a team of three other architects, I spent two years designing the expansion to the nationally renowned children’s hospital and gained extensive knowledge and experience in the project type and its varying levels of acuity. My wife is a pediatric nurse practitioner and during this project my life, both in the office and at home, was consumed with the concept of pediatric care and the architecture that supports it. I gained immense respect for providers like my wife and the value this architecture provides to society and I developed a very personal connection to the field.
  • Kalispell Regional Healthcare

At KRH I worked directly on the campus, within the environments we were designing, getting unique personal exposure to the medical industry early in my growth as a designer. I was able to gain experience not only in the design and construction of health care buildings, but also the management and structure of modern medical facilities.
