Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following...• To oversee the day-to-day operation of technical facilities within the Creative Arts, Media and AV faculties, including a recording studio and 300 cap theatre space• To maintain and operate all Media faculty equipment including the management of an electronic hire systems for all Media faculty members.• To provide and operate technical equipment for all events produced by the Creative Arts faculty and external guests / companies.• To oversee staff / student operators for large scale events taking place in the main performance venue.• To provide professional quality audio recordings from the recording studio, and live event spaces for coursework provision, internal documentation and potential professional applications.• To provide technical expertise by way of classroom support and technical demonstrations to Creative Arts and Media faculties during coursework preparation.• To provide staff training for the Creative Arts and Media faculties on software and hardware systems used within each department• To take photo / video footage of school events for internal documentation and faculty / school promotion.• To oversee and undertake the installation and maintenance of all AVA systems and equipment on campus.• To oversee and carry out the installation and maintenance of IP security camera systems around campus.• To oversee the operation of the digital signage system on campus, alongside the ICT technical department.• To organize the hire and / or purchase of technical equipment and facilities for curriculum and extracurricular events.• To work alongside internal and external departments for large scale AVA installations and cross faculty / external events.

This included, but is not limited to…• Counterweight Flying (rigging and operation)• Stage management• Sound engineering (set up and operation of audio equipment for both theatrical and musical events)• Lighting engineer (set up and operation of lighting equipment for both theatrical and musical events)• Stage hand (to operate stage based equipment and set for large scale productions) • Automation operative (to control automated equipment such as mechanical scenery, staging and special effects)• Rigger (to set up technical facilities on stage and in the auditorium for events. This may include both audio and lighting, staging, special effects and items rigged at height)• General maintenance (to repair and maintain lighting and audio equipment when needed)
