Previously, I worked for Ecotrust, a unique social change organization building an economy that restores nature and invests in people. In 2011, I was contributing editor at Nature Conservancy magazine.As a journalist, I concentrated on science and the environment, appearing in news outlets around the world, including The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Far East Economic Review, ESPN The Magazine, and the Christian Science Monitor.As writer-in-residence at the Earth Observatory of Singapore in 2009-10, I wrote a book on the challenge of Sumatrans adapting to tsunami threats. Tsunami Alert: Beating Asia’s Next Big One was published in November 2010.During four years as an editor at Oregon Business magazine, and was a feature writer and city beat reporter for Saratoga News and Los Gatos Weekly-Times in northern California. In 1999, I graduated from Princeton University, where I majored in environmental history, with a minor in African Studies and education.
