Obaid has more than 16 years of extensive experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, having worked at several international consultancies in USA and the middle east. Obaid holds a masters degree in transportation engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (USA)Obaid's expertise ranges from leading in Detailed masterplan design, and also reviewing of masterplans, preparing traffic impact assessments, conducting traffic modelling, traffic diversion plans, road safety, preparing technical proposals to advanced transportation masterplans, according to the American and the British standards. Obaid is also familiar with various international standards and manuals including the DMRB, TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual UK, and AASHTO.Obaid also has extensive knowledge of Traffic Engineering Works including Traffic Calming and Signing, Road Safety, Traffic Management / Diversion Plans. Obaid was closely involved in preparing Traffic Management Plans for the various metro stations of Q-Rail using Ashghal's Work Zone Traffic Management Guide (WZTMG) in Qatar. Obaid is also trained in AutoCAD, Autoturns as well as junction modelling software including LinSig, ARACADY, PICADY, Synchro, SIDRA, HCS, PTV VISSIM, SimTraffic, Transmodeller. Obaid has the experience of working in the Middle Eastern countries of Qatar and Saudi Arabia having spent the last 14 years working solely on Transportation Engineering projects. Obaid worked for and coordinated with public sector clients such as Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), Saudi Downtown Company (SDC), NEOM, Royal Commission of Al Ula (RCU) , QIDDIYA, Diriyyah Gate, Riyadh Municipality, Saudi Aramco, Public Investment Fund (PIF) of KSA, Ashghal (Public Works Authority, Qatar), Ministry of Municipality & Urban Planning (MMUP), Qatar-Rail and Qatar Petroleum (QP) in the State of Qatar.Obaid has experience in producing Traffic Impact Study’s and general advice on traffic, pedestrians, cycling and parking. Obaid also has understanding of Strategic modelling in the form of VISUM and Emme.
