Incuna is a leading digital agency specialising in pharmaceuticals. In this role I worked on projects for global pharma brands such as Abbvie, Teva, Roche and Janssen. Many clients were very traditional in their approach to both design and digital, so it was often a challenge to push them forward, and a huge reward when they were convinced to take that step. I brought a clean and simple approach to everything I designed, keeping within brand guidelines and managing the requests of the clients. I created designs for websites, mobile and tablet apps, tablet based presentations called eDetails, as well as a smaller amount of print collateral. I was responsible for the majority of marketing material that Incuna puts out, from engaging email campaigns to beautiful one off print pieces. Incuna also takes on the occasional projects from outside the Pharmaceutical industry. For example, I completed a sizeable re-spec and redesign for Oxford University Press, and they have been extremely complimentary about the work produced.

GDGD acts as an expanded in-house design team to a wide selection of companies within the Glen Dimplex Group, amongst which are Roberts Radios, Morphy Richards, Carmen, Dimplex, Galaxy Showers and many more. I was given the opportunity to work on a huge array of projects, both print and digital, from packaging & product graphics to logo and interface icon design. I also had the chance and challenge of working within tight brand guidelines, and was able to produce attractive and considered designs within strict limitations. With certain projects, such as info graphics and brochure concepts, I had a free rein and produced very interesting and much praised designs.

I worked as an Editorial Assistant and Designer at Comma Press, a small publishing house that focuses on the short story. My duties included proof reading, ebook coding & producing designs for book covers. Designing book covers was one of the most enjoyable design projects I have ever worked on. They encouraged me to analyse the message, themes and readership of the book, and create something visually arresting yet appropriate. This allowed me to work on some very creative and interesting designs. I also worked on converting PDF’s into the eBook format using html and CSS to program in stylistic formatting requirements, images and hyperlinks.

I worked on a temporary basis as a graphic designer for Digital Issue, an online publishing company who works with turn -page technology. I have worked on emailers, website headers and footers, backgrounds for the publications, marketing and POS materials. This has gave me the chance to experience working to a tighter corporate guideline, and with a high spec technology.
